Off-Site Community Service Opportunities
Healthcare-Related Organizations:
Ronald McDonald House Charities: supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope
- Must be 16+
MANNA: uses nutrition to improve health for people with serious illnesses who need nourishment to heal
Hunger & Housing-Related Organizations:
Habitat for Humanity: dedicated to providing safe, decent, affordable housing for families who lack adequate shelter
- Must be 16+
Philabundance: food bank
- Must be 18+ outside of family volunteer opportunities
Share Food Program: fight against food insecurity
Cradles to Crayons: provides children from birth through age 12 living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive
Animal-Related Organizations:
Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA): rescues animals from cruelty and neglect, rehabilitates them medically and behaviorally, and places them with new, loving families

ACCT: Animal Care and Control Team of Philadelphia: animal care and control service provider
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and be able to dedicate at least 3 hours per month to volunteering
- Must complete volunteer orientation

- Must be 18+
Saved Me Rescue: Help enrich the lives of animals at our Rescue Center.
Nature/Park-Related Organizations:
Mill Creek Farm: dedicated to improving local access to fresh, chemical-free produce at low cost for the immediate Mill Creek community and surrounding neighborhoods
Love Your Park: brings Philadelphians together to clean, green, and celebrate our public green spaces
Fairmount Park Conservancy: help with removing invasive species, weeding, trash pick-up, trail maintenance, and more
Philadelphia Horticulture Society: support community gardens, at public landscapes, by planting trees, and at the Flower Show, and more
Philadelphia Orchard Project: community events, including plantings, work days, workshops, and harvest festivals across the city.
Other Organizations:
Philly Aids Thrift: sell the lovely, useful, interesting, amusing, and sometimes mysterious items that generous people donate to our thrift store and then distribute the proceeds to local organizations involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS
Salvation Army: a religiously-affiliated organization that provides services for those experiencing hardship related to housing, financial need, disasters, trafficking, and incarceration.
